Duferco, one of the main industrial groups in Italy and a leader in the European steel industry, presented an impressive 250-million-euro investment during an event held at its plant in San Zeno Naviglio, in the province of Brescia. This is a new cutting-edge rolling mill, capable of providing employment for 150 workers and equipped with extremely innovative technology.
This investment proves to be strategic for the development of the group, allowing the completion of the verticalization of beam production. The rolling mill has a rolling capacity of 700,000 tons per year, previously outsourced. Duferco president, Gozzi, defined the investment as ‘the realization of a dream that our family has cherished for almost thirty years’.
The inaugural event, of extraordinary institutional and industrial importance, was organized on 16 October by Gruppo WISE in collaboration with the marketing area of the Duferco Group based in Genoa: Matteo Parodi, Head of Marketing of Duferco Energia, together with his team composed of Cristina Filippini, Alessandro Pastorino and Matteo Scarsi.
For the event, a 5000 m2 marquee was set up in the area in front of the new rolling mill. More than 800 guests from all over Europe participated in the speeches of the Duferco president Antonio Gozzi, former number 1 of Federacciai, the Minister of Business and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso, the president of the Lombardy Region Attilio Fontana and the President of the Confindustria Carlo Bonomi.
Proudly, the Gruppo WISE coordinated over 100 staff people and set up the various areas affected by the inauguration to manage accreditations, reception, catering, the presentation event from the stage and the subsequent guided tour of the rolling mill for the Institutions, the Italian and foreign press and guests.
